Michael L. Henry is co-founder and serves as president of Cavanaugh Advisors, a Michigan-based corporate strategy consulting firm. At Cavanaugh Advisors, Michael specializes in corporate policy development, supplier relations, corporate diversity and revenue strategy. Michael is an award-winning writer with over 30 years of experience as a producer and director; 27 years in the fields of direct-mail, online, and social media marketing; and 22 years in the area of converging technology. Michael recently served as director for global diversity, sustainability and corporate responsibility at Production Services Management, Inc. (PSMI), a tier one manufacturing services supplier to automotive, aerospace, defense, energy, medical and agricultural customers worldwide. Under Michael's leadership, PSMI outperformed the industry goal of 8% spend with minority business enterprises (MBEs). Michael and the Cavanaugh Advisors team currently advises PSMI on policy development, supplier relations, diversity and other corporate strategy matters. Year after year, PSMI continues to achieve 12 to 13% spend with MBEs with the help of Michael Henry and the Cavanaugh Advisors team. Michael has been honored with the prestigious Hopwood Playwright's Award and served as the lead producer on a team earning a GM Industry Education Award for an innovative online educational course. Michael went on to continue his career serving in a number of private sector roles and later received an African American Downtown Festival Award for Community Leadership, a Spirit of Detroit Award and was an honoree for the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Mr. Henry is a member of the Washtenaw My Brothers Keeper (WMBK) steering committee and media/marketing committee; board member and past chairman of the Arts Alliance for Washtenaw County; and past chairman of the Washtenaw County Board of Canvassers. Michael also recently served on the Washtenaw County Economic Development Coordinating Committee and Cultural Leaders Forum. Michael grew up in New Orleans and Detroit. In his spare time, he enjoys biking, camping, reading, writing, sailing, skiing, dancing, bowling, jazz, funk, soul, classical, house/techno, old school hip hop and world music. |
