"It's a needed cause. Most people don't understand how domestic violence affects the ability of the survivor to function in the public realm. Also, I have full confidence in the Board of Directors!”

"Her World Initiative has very quickly become a very powerful voice in advocacy for survivors of domestic violence. They have also helped shape community perception and response to the problem itself through their work with legislators and community leaders. The depth of the work being done is to be commended.”

"When I had been involved in extensive and stressful litigation for years, I discovered HWI, a non-profit founded to support mothers like myself who find themselves in a financially and psychologically draining and damaging process involving false allegations, legal abuse and coercive control. Many women are encouraged to leave abusive relationships, especially when children are involved. Yet, the sad and frustrating reality is that many have no means by which to support themselves and their children once they do decide to leave. Where will the stay? Who will support them in an emotional time that is so stressful? Not only must they cut ties to a person upon whom they have been made dependent, but due to the current legal system, they must continuously deal with the corersive tactics of their abuser or they will be punished by a family court system that all too often does not identify and properly deal with abusive dynamics. Further, most survivors lack the financial resources to fund an attorney who can ably represent their and their children’s interests to the court. Often these abusers can access these funds through their own means or others who they manipulate to contribute to their legal representation. As an adult, a woman can leave an abusive situation, but her children can not, because both parents have the right to parent their children under our family court system. Many abusers do not care or can not care about their children, but many want to control their children if they can no longer control their former partners, and some try to control their former partners through their children. HWI seeks to understand these harmful dynamics in the months and years after a survivor leaves. In particular, HWI is dedicated to supporting survivors as they navigate the family court system. Through research and advocacy, HWI seeks to understand how current laws impact survivors and their children and how the court system applies these laws. HWI recognizes that unless we affect change on a macro, policy, and legislative level, we can not truly provide change and hope to survivors and their children that enables them to not just survive but thrive.”

"Her World Initiative is a wonderful organization that provides a healing, and informational platform for those who have been victims of domestic violence. The organization creates a sense of community where survivors can come together, share their experiences, and support each other. I had the pleasure of working with the founder Ashton Justice in developing a social media platform for Instagram. Her story is one of strength, survival, persistence, and a mother’s unconditional love for their child. It is through her story, passion for justice, and a vision not only for her but all women in similar stances, that Her World Initiative came to fruition.”

"Too often the justice system fails survivors of domestic violence and their children. Her World is dedicated to being a voice for those who have been marginalized and for whom justice has been denied. Everyone deserves the support and resources to get a fair day in court. Her World seeks to change the laws that stack the deck against survivors and stand with them in their time of need.”
